Fourth edition: TOS+H Expo 2020, the trade fair for safe and healthy work in Turkey, will kick off at a new exhibition centre on 3 May 2020.

Messe Düsseldorf GmbH and its local partner Tezulaş Fuar extend an invitation to the fourth edition of TOS+H Expo 2020, the Turkish Occupational Safety + Health Exhibition, to be held in Istanbul from 3 to 6 May 2020. Running in parallel will be the X. International Occupational Safety and Health Congress organised by the Turkish Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services.

Efficient safety at work and accident prevention are indispensable in an ever faster moving and more demanding working environment. For this reason everything will revolve around health, safety and security at work in Istanbul from 3 to 6 May 2020. As the most important industry platform and communications hub and the leading trade exhibition for occupational safety and occupational medicine in Turkey and its neighbouring countries, TOS+H Expo will again attract trade visitors to the metropolis on the Bosporus after three successful events.
As in 2014, 2016 and 2018 TOS+H EXPO 2020 will be accompanied by the concurrently held X. International Occupational Safety and Health Congress. This renowned expert convention will be organised and held by the Turkish Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services.

Both events will be held under the same roof at the ICC Congress Center Istanbul for the first time now. This means, TOS+H Expo 2020 and the X. International Occupational Safety and Health Congress will move to premises that are centrally located in the Taksim District and offer sufficient room for both events in a central place with optimal infrastructure.

Together, the exhibition and convention offer a 360-degree overview of the Turkish market. They provide key impetus for the further implementation of uniform occupational safety standards as well as for establishing a corporate prevention culture in Turkey and its neighbouring countries.

For the first time ever TOS+H Expo 2020 will feature a special area for start-ups and non-profit organisations.

This way TOS+H Expo 2020 serves as THE platform for meeting the decision-makers in the region and for noticeably strengthening one’s market position.

In 2018 Turkey boasted a workforce of 29 million people. Economic growth in sectors of industry posting high accident statistics, such as the construction sector, mining, transport and the processing industry, is significantly higher than in other sectors. This means the probability of occupational accidents and illness acquired in the working environment rises as the economy grows. Recent studies show that the annual costs caused to the Turkish economy by occupational accidents and illness are estimated at some $ 8 billion.

In the more recent past the Turkish Government adopted several political initiatives to make workplaces safer, to promote further education and cut accident figures. This initiative is also designed to foster a safety culture in the working world.

This means that TOS+H Expo 2020 and the X. International Occupational Safety and Health Congress make a decisive contribution to raising awareness about health and safety at work in Turkey.

2018 saw 119 exhibitors from 50 nations present themselves to the over 5,000 high-quality trade visitors at TOS+H Expo. The Turkish Occupational Safety + Health Exhibition – alongside A+A (Leading International Trade Fair for Safety, Security and Health at Work), in Düsseldorf, COS+H (China International Safety + Health Exhibition) in Beijing and OS+H Asia (Occupational Safety + Health Exhibition for Asia) in Singapore – forms part of Messe Düsseldorf’s international portfolio in the occupational safety and health segment.

High-quality workplaces in companies, which can be measured by comparable standards, fewer occupational accidents and fewer occupational illnesses in Turkey were the objectives kicking off the German-Turkish Health & Safety Dialogue in Düsseldorf in 2013. Turkey was the partner country of the A+A trade fair with congress that year. A country, which – boasting more than 20 million insured – holds a high user potential for personal protective equipment and has become an attractive market for PPE suppliers.
The growth of this market along with a general rise in interest in occupational safety and occupational medicine worldwide led to the premiere of TOS+H Expo held in cooperation with the Turkish Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services in 2014. Since then TOS+H Expo has been organised by Messe Düsseldorf, supported by the local trade fair organiser Tezulaş Fuar.
